The AtMoDat team presented the generic Quality Indicator at several conferences and workshops in the past six month and collected detailed feedback. Amongst others, the term "Quality" was considered as misleading and the textual description was criticized as being to fuzzy. We re-designed the Quality Indicator based on the feedback. The new concept is denoted as Data Maturity Indicator.

This Data Maturity Indicator allows to store results of data/metadata checks in the metadata. For example, it may include results of data/metadata quality checks but also results of FAIRness metrics. However, it does not necessarily has to included quality checking information as the previously designed Quality Indicator. The Data Maturity Indicator does not prescribe specific checks or metrics that have to be performed on the data/metadata. Instead, the indicator allows to flexibly link any external check/metric and include the check's result.

Moreover, the Data Maturity Indicator is provided as fully formalized version in a csv file following the structure of the DataCite Metadata Schema. Three XML examples in the DataCite-XML style are also available.
